Case study — Residential
Hillcrest
Road, W5.
A whole-house remodel and rear extension in Ealing — approved first time, designed around light and family life.
01 — Brief
The ask.
A growing family loved their street but had outgrown their house: a dark kitchen, disconnected garden, and a layout that wasted its best light. The brief was more space — but really it was better space.
02 — Approach
The work.
Rather than simply adding a box, we reorganised the whole ground floor around a new rear extension: sightlines from front door to garden, a kitchen placed for morning light, storage absorbed into joinery walls. The planning application was prepared with officer pre-engagement and neighbour consultation — and approved without amendment.
03 — Outcome
The result.
Consent first time, a build that priced close to estimate thanks to fabrication-level drawings, and a home that feels twice as generous as the added floor area suggests.
Every builder who quoted said the same thing: these are the clearest drawings we’ve seen. The build was calm because the thinking was done.
